Since 1994 | have presented this waterway/construction proposal to each leader of Canada and the United States, Thirty one consecutive years, each administration has been sent a copy of this desperately needed water project.

In the proposal the following concerns and benefits would be addressed. Eliminate flooding Missouri, Mississippi and Red River water sheds, plus the Colorado river valley, Lake Mead, would never again be threatened with water scarcity. 

• increase crop production land in Canada and the USA by a minimum of 500 Thousand acres from improved irrigation

• create 8 million new jobs in North America over 20 years construction phase, create 35 million new jobs in infrastructure support, roads, hotel, tourism.

Overview.

The proposal would directly effect agriculture long term, shift North.American population from urban to rural thru new jobs, decrease unemployment, insure a fresh water supply in North America four future generations.

The route for PC 49 from the Great Lakes to the Pacific along the 49th parallel, an agricultural, irrigation, transportation, recreational waterway one mile wide, 100 feet deep, 1800 miles long, capable of accommodating the largest ships in the world, cruise, tankers and freighters.

PC49 opens the heartland of North America, to large ocean going ships. PC49 will decrease the most expensive cost associated with farming, transportation of commodities.

Eg. One bushel of wheat from North.Dakota to China $1.12 per bushel drops to 0.13 cents.

The Ogallala Aquifer water levels can be replentished to historic 1904 levels.   1/3 of the fresh water in the world is in N America.

PC49 creates tributaries from the main channel that would have feeder and bleeder channels. The main feeder would be from the north commencing at Hudsons Bay travelling south and west to intersect with PC 49. This would carry global warming ice cap melt from the polar region and would effect water levels world wide and provide a place for rising water levels to go when  global warming threats occur.

The bleeder tributaries would also  travel south from PC 49 to Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake, Las Vegas,Colorado River Valley Los Angeles,  and all points west plus Mexico.

Agriculture, industry, tourism, new cities, towns and villages, would benefit as fresh water revitalizes N America and we once again project a better path for Mankind on this planet.

180 nations of the United Nations would be asked to participate at $5 billion each, undertaking a joint venture agreement with 100 year trade/peace non aggression pact with Canada and the United States of America. plus preferential immigration treatment when N American unemployment levels warrant.

Canada and the USA would each contribute $50 billion. All nations would benefit from increased trade and lower transportation costs. e.g.   e. g.   Tourists out of  Australia could see Mount Rushmore from a cruise ship that was loaded in Australia. Tractor manufacturers in Moline could ship freight direct to Israel.

This PC 49 opens up unlimited transportation possibilities to not only N Ameriaca, but every country in the world that would enjoy commerce at reduced transportation costs to the vast markets of  central N America.
